Copyright & Content Removal Policy

Last updated: October 7, 2026

The Style Edit respects intellectual property rights and takes legitimate copyright and content-rights concerns seriously.

This Copyright & Content Removal Policy explains how copyright owners, authorized representatives, photographers, creators, publishers, brands, and other rights holders can contact us regarding material appearing on thestyleedit.blog.

We aim to review legitimate notices in good faith and take appropriate action where necessary.

Copyright and Intellectual Property

The Style Edit publishes editorial and visual content relating to fashion, outfit inspiration, haircuts, hairstyles, hair color, and related style topics.

We respect the intellectual-property rights of creators and rights holders.

If you believe that material appearing on The Style Edit infringes copyright or another applicable right, you may submit a removal or review request using the procedure below.

Before Submitting a Request

Before submitting a copyright complaint, please make sure that:

  • you have identified the specific material at issue;
  • you have identified the exact page or pages where it appears;
  • you are the rights holder or are authorized to act on behalf of the rights holder; and
  • you have a good-faith basis for requesting removal or other action.

Please provide enough information for us to understand and evaluate your request.

Copyright & Content Removal Requests

A copyright or content-removal request should include:

  1. Identification of the copyrighted work or protected material you believe is being infringed.
  2. The exact URL on The Style Edit where the material appears.
  3. Identification of the specific material at issue, such as the relevant image, text, graphic, or other content.
  4. Your name and contact information, including a working email address.
  5. Your relationship to the material, such as whether you are the copyright owner or an authorized representative.
  6. An explanation of the basis for your request and why you believe the use is unauthorized or otherwise infringes your rights.
  7. Where appropriate, evidence supporting your claim, such as an original publication URL, registration information, licensing information, or another reasonable indication of ownership or authorization.

Please ensure that information submitted in a rights request is accurate.

How We Review Requests

When we receive a sufficiently detailed request, we may:

  • review the material identified in the notice;
  • review information supplied by the requesting party;
  • request additional information where necessary;
  • investigate the source or rights status of the material;
  • remove or disable access to material where appropriate;
  • correct attribution or other information where appropriate; or
  • decline a request when there is insufficient information or another legitimate basis for retaining the material.

Submitting a request does not automatically establish infringement.

We aim to evaluate legitimate concerns reasonably and in accordance with applicable requirements.

United States — DMCA Notices

For claims subject to the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), a copyright owner or authorized representative may submit a notification of claimed infringement.

A DMCA notice should include the information required by applicable law, including:

  • identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed;
  • identification of the allegedly infringing material and information reasonably sufficient to locate it;
  • contact information for the complaining party;
  • a statement that the complaining party has a good-faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law;
  • a statement that the information in the notification is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that the complaining party is authorized to act on behalf of the owner of the allegedly infringed right; and
  • the physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on their behalf.

Incomplete notices may require additional information before they can be processed.

DMCA Counter-Notifications

If material is removed or access is disabled following a DMCA notification and the affected party believes that the material was removed or disabled because of mistake or misidentification, they may be entitled to submit a counter-notification under applicable U.S. law.

A valid counter-notification must contain the information required by the DMCA.

Because submitting a DMCA notice or counter-notification can have legal consequences, parties may wish to obtain independent legal advice before submitting one.

European Union, United Kingdom & International Requests

The DMCA is a United States law. Copyright concerns originating in the European Union, United Kingdom, or other jurisdictions may be governed by different laws and procedures.

Rights holders outside the United States may still submit copyright or content-removal requests to The Style Edit.

Please provide:

  • identification of the protected work;
  • the exact URL containing the disputed material;
  • identification of the material you want reviewed;
  • your contact information;
  • your status as the rights holder or authorized representative;
  • the legal or rights-based reason for the request; and
  • any supporting information reasonably necessary to evaluate the claim.

We will review such requests in light of the information provided and applicable requirements.

Images and Photography

Because The Style Edit covers highly visual subjects such as fashion and hair, we take concerns involving photography, illustrations, graphics, and other visual works seriously.

If you are a photographer, creator, agency, publisher, model representative, brand, or other rights holder and believe an image appearing on The Style Edit has been used without appropriate authorization, please identify the image and the exact URL where it appears.

Providing a link to the original work or other reasonable evidence of your rights can help us evaluate the request efficiently.

Trademark and Other Rights Concerns

This policy primarily addresses copyright, but we also accept legitimate notifications involving trademarks or other content-related rights.

A request involving another legal right should clearly identify:

  • the right being asserted;
  • the material concerned;
  • the URL where it appears; and
  • the basis for the claim.

We may request additional information where necessary.

Misrepresentation and Abuse

Please do not knowingly submit false, misleading, fraudulent, or abusive copyright or content-removal requests.

Copyright procedures should not be used simply to suppress legitimate criticism, commentary, lawful use, or content that a person dislikes.

Parties submitting formal legal notices are responsible for the accuracy of their representations and may be responsible for consequences resulting from material misrepresentations under applicable law.

Repeat Infringement

Where appropriate and applicable, The Style Edit may take reasonable measures regarding repeated infringement of intellectual-property rights.

The specific response will depend on the circumstances and applicable requirements.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Copyright & Content Removal Policy to reflect changes in our practices, contact procedures, or applicable requirements.
